Zachary M. Helmen, M.D.
Dr. Helmen began his career at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, receiving a BBA in management and human resources. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin where he was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and developed a passion for otolaryngology. He then completed his otolaryngology residency at the University of Miami Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL, the largest county hospital in the country. He was raised in Hudson, WI and came back to join ENT Specialty Care after extensive training in adult and pediatric otolaryngology in Florida.
Dr. Helmen’s clinical and surgical practice encompasses all areas within the specialty of otolaryngology, both children and adults. He enjoys working with children and their parents to treat problems of the tonsils, adenoids, and ears. While interested in all aspects of the specialty, he has a particular interest in nasal and sinus disease, sleep surgery, thyroid and parotid surgery and head and neck oncology. He also has a passion for working together with his colleagues in neurosurgery to remove brain tumors through the nose. When making treatment plans for his patients, he likes to answer all questions and make sure his patients (and parents of patients) are fully on board.
Outside of the operating room and clinic, Dr. Helmen loves spending time with his wife, family, and friends. He is passionate about any outdoor activity, but is partial towards skiing, hiking, and biking. He also enjoys giving back to both the local and international community through his church or other nonprofit organizations.
